November marks Movember, an annual campaign dedicated to raising awareness of men's health, with a focus on prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health. It's an opportunity to highlight some of the health challenges men face and encourage more open conversations about prevention, early detection and seeking support.
In Canada, an estimated 29,300 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2026, making it one of the country’s leading cancer diagnoses among men.1 Despite this, survival outcomes continue to improve, with a five-year survival rate of 91%. Early detection plays a critical role, with survival rates approaching 100% through stage 3. Testicular cancer also has a positive outlook when diagnosed and treated, with a five-year net survival rate of approximately 97%.2
Mental health deserves the same attention. Men account for approximately 75% of suicide deaths in Canada, underscoring the need for accessible support and environments where people feel comfortable discussing their mental health.3
Throughout November, consider making time for your own well-being and checking in with those around you. The resources below cover mental health support, cancer information, and general wellness to help you explore available services and make informed decisions about your health.
