Management Team

J. Greg Sutton, President & CEO

Following his acquisition of Sutton Special Risk in 2011, Greg Sutton has served as its President and CEO, having held senior positions within the company and elsewhere in the industry since 1995, including in the Lloyd’s market and a large international reinsurer. Greg has led Sutton’s rapid growth through expansion into new product lines and strategic partnerships and by building unique capabilities to better serve Sutton’s valued clients.
Greg holds a BA from the University of Toronto and has been an active participant in Quantum Shift at the Richard Ivey School of Business, a rigorous developmental program that annually challenges 40 of Canada’s entrepreneurs to enhance their leadership skills and maximize growth.
Carol Graham, EVP & COO

Carol was appointed COO of Sutton Special Risk in 2011 and serves on its board of directors. Prior to becoming COO, Carol held senior operations and marketing positions at Sutton. In her current role, she is responsible for the management and strategic direction of the company’s underwriting, sales, claims, service and administration support. Before joining Sutton, Carol was Vice President of Affinity Markets at ACE INA, and prior to that she held executive underwriting roles within the reinsurance industry.
Carol holds a BA in Economics from the University of Toronto and has her life and A&S licences in all provinces and territories.
Cassian Rodrigues, SVP, Finance & CFO

Cassian joined Sutton in April 2019. He serves as CFO for the Sutton group of companies and is responsible for Sutton’s financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax, and compliance. He is also engaged in the strategic direction of the company. Before joining Sutton, Cassian worked at South Western Insurance Group, where he held the roles of CFO & COO. Prior to that he worked at Catlin Insurance as CFO of the Canadian operations.
Cassian holds a CPA from Canada and the US and a CIMA from the UK.
Chris Carr, SVP, Special Risk

Chris joined Sutton in 2010 after graduating from Queen’s University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Starting as an underwriting assistant, Chris was appointed to Senior Vice President in 2018 and now leads Sutton's special risk underwriting team. His responsibilities include underwriting, pricing, business development, and account management across all product lines including AD&D, Disability, Major Medical, Life, Critical Illness, and Kidnap & Ransom insurance.
